According to the girl's father, she was returning home after work when a local rickshaw driver, identified as Ali Mujahid, offered her a ride and took her to a cemetery ground, where he allegedly assaulted her.
Police registered a case on the father's complaint and arrested the suspect. The father has demanded legal action against the accused.
Jamaat-e-Islami Gets Permission for Rally at Liaquat Bagh
Jamaat-e-Islami has been granted permission to hold a rally at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi, sources said. According to sources, the party and the Rawalpindi district administration reached an agreement over arrangements for the rally. The administration subsequently opened the gates of Liaquat Bagh.
Jamaat-e-Islami has started preparations at the venue, with chairs, sound systems, lights and other equipment being brought in.
Earlier, the party had announced a sit-in on Murree Road after permission to hold the rally at Liaquat Bagh was initially denied.
