The operations targeted Fitna al-Khawarij in KP under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision and Fitna al-Hindustan in Balochistan.
Security forces targeted militant hideouts in North Waziristan and adjoining areas, killing 13 militants, according to security sources.
Separately, an operation against Fitna al-Hindustan in Mastung killed five militants.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants during the operations. Security forces also launched a clearance operation to eliminate any remaining militants in the area.
Pakistan has witnessed a sharp rise in cross-border militant attacks, particularly in KP and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021.
The country recorded 225 militant attacks in September 2026, the highest monthly total in 12 years. The figure was 13% higher than the 199 attacks recorded in August, according to data compiled by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies.
Pakistan has repeatedly urged Kabul to prevent Afghan territory from being used by militant groups to carry out attacks inside the country.
Islamabad maintains that Afghan Taliban authorities have failed to take effective action against groups responsible for attacks on Pakistani security forces and civilians, while Kabul disputes the allegations.
Despite several rounds of talks, Pakistan and Afghanistan have yet to resolve their differences, with the presence of militant groups on Afghan soil remaining a major source of tension between the two countries.
