Speaking at an event in Karachi, Bilawal said the worsening security situation in KP, including terrorist incidents and attacks from Afghanistan, required serious attention. He said both Governor’s Rule and emergency were constitutional options, but political parties should first make every effort to find a political solution.

Bilawal called for all political forces to adopt a joint strategy against terrorism and urged the federal and provincial governments to work together in areas facing serious security challenges.

He also said political parties should engage with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and try to persuade it to end its long march. He acknowledged that protests are a constitutional right but said political leadership should avoid steps that could increase tensions under the current circumstances.

The PPP chairman said the KP government appeared to be focusing on political activities while the province continued to face terrorist attacks. He warned that failure to address the security situation could create the perception that the provincial government was not effectively cooperating with the federal government against terrorism.

Bilawal said political differences should be kept separate from the issue of terrorism, which he described as a matter of national security. He expressed hope that ongoing talks would succeed and help bring political stability to the country.

He said terrorism was a red line for the PPP and that further deterioration of law and order in KP could have consequences for the entire country.
