The CDA also imposed fines on PIMS Hospital, Polyclinic and Capital Hospital for failing to ensure adequate fire safety arrangements. A fine of Rs500,000 was imposed on each institution.
The buildings sealed over non-compliance with fire safety regulations include Shahid-e-Millat Secretariat, State Life Building, TDAP Building, Beverly Centre, NIC Building, Crown Plaza and Envoy Continental Hotel.
The CDA has expanded fire safety inspections across Islamabad. Authorities are checking firefighting equipment, emergency exits and evacuation arrangements in buildings.
The authority has directed building owners and managements to immediately complete all required fire safety measures. Officials warned that continued non-compliance would lead to further legal action.
