According to sources, progress has also been made on the opposition’s demand for meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan. The government is also likely to accept a demand concerning Imran Khan’s health, while discussions over his possible transfer are still ongoing.
Sources said both sides showed flexibility during the negotiations, with National Assembly Speaker playing an important role in facilitating the talks.
A draft agreement between the government and opposition has reportedly been prepared. Following the progress in negotiations, a joint declaration is likely to be issued, sources said.
A joint press conference by government and opposition representatives on state television is also expected shortly.
