Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that 13 years of governance cannot be accounted for in just 11 days, adding that plans for the next 100 days and other initiatives are being prepared.

Speaking to the media at Governor House in Peshawar during an interaction with students from Pakistan Sweet Homes, Kundi said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would visit Peshawar soon.

The governor also discussed counterterrorism efforts, political engagement and allegations concerning the province’s mineral resources.

Security and Counterterrorism Efforts

Kundi described Afghanistan’s silence as surprising and said the police would receive the resources they had requested to combat terrorism.

He added that any institution requiring support would receive full cooperation.

The governor said a meeting of the provincial Apex Committee had already taken place, while a meeting of the federal committee would be held soon.

He also confirmed that discussions were continuing with other political parties, saying he had personally approached Awami National Party leader Aimal Wali Khan and Jamaat-e-Islami representatives.

Governor Rejects Claims About Mineral Resources

Commenting on allegations that certain political groups were spreading misinformation about the seizure of mineral resources, Kundi rejected what he described as a misleading impression.

He referred to his shared regional background with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and questioned claims about the mineral resources in their area.

Free Land Announced for Cadet College

Earlier, addressing the event, the governor said providing quality education and a brighter future for children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remained a priority.

He stressed that supporting and caring for the children of security personnel who had sacrificed their lives for the country’s defence and peace was a collective responsibility.

Kundi announced that the provincial government would provide free government land to Pakistan Sweet Homes for establishing a cadet college in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He pledged continued cooperation with the organisation.

The event was attended by Pakistan Sweet Homes chairman Zamurrad Khan, donors, students and teachers from the Islamabad-based institution.

The governor also praised Zamurrad Khan for dedicating his efforts to the education, upbringing and welfare of orphaned and underprivileged children across Pakistan.

Scholarships for 50,000 Children

During the event, Zamurrad Khan announced plans to establish a pre-cadet college for the children of personnel martyred while serving in the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, police and other security forces.

He reaffirmed his commitment to continuing support for the children of martyrs, orphans and other vulnerable children.

Khan also announced that scholarships would be provided to 50,000 children across Pakistan, with priority given to the children of martyrs.

The event concluded with special prayers for the personnel who lost their lives serving in the country’s security forces.
