Pakistan Sends 100 Tonnes of Relief Supplies to Flood Hit Nepal

Pakistan has sent 100 tonnes of relief supplies to flood-affected people in Nepal, with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) dispatching the assistance from Islamabad to the Nepali capital Kathmandu on a chartered aircraft.

An official ceremony marking the departure of the relief supplies was held at Islamabad International Airport. Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik attended the event.

Nepal’s ambassador, along with senior officials from the NDMA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and humanitarian organisations, also participated in the ceremony.

The relief consignment includes tents, blankets, mats, hygiene kits and medicines to support communities affected by the floods.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said Pakistan stood with Nepal and its flood-affected people during the difficult situation.
