The officials said Pakistan does not, as a matter of principle, comment on the US sanctions regime against Iran and does not interfere in the matter.
According to the officials, Pakistan is focused on promoting broader stability and prosperity in the region through a friendly, mutually agreed and practical resolution to the dispute. They said Pakistan is playing a central role as a mediator.
The officials said Pakistan remains committed to sincere and constructive efforts to reduce differences between Washington and Tehran and to serve as a bridge between the two countries.
They added that Pakistan hopes a peaceful resolution to the dispute can be achieved through dialogue and de-escalation of tensions.
