According to the notifications, PIMS Executive Director Professor Dr Rana Imran Sikandar, Joint Executive Director Non-Medical Chaudhry Waris Ali Raza, Professor and Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr Noushila Amjad, and Joint Executive Director of Children’s Hospital Dr Mutahir Shah have been suspended for 120 days.
Senior Registrar Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr Nigham Nawaz, Associate Professor of Paediatrics Dr Saadia Riaz and Assistant Director Security Muhammad Usman have also been suspended for 120 days.
The notification further states that PIMS charge nurse Nasreen and lady security staff member Maria have been transferred to the administration pool.
Meanwhile, new officials have been assigned additional and existing responsibilities at various positions. Dr Muhammad Salman has been appointed as the new Executive Director of PIMS.
Dr Muhammad Salman will serve as Executive Director for three years or until a permanent officer is appointed.
Dr Altaf Hussain has been given charge as Joint Executive Director Non-Medical, while Dr Nuzhat Yasmeen has been assigned the additional charge of Joint Executive Director Children’s Hospital.
Dr Shameela has been given charge as Professor and Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, while Dr Rehmana Waris has been assigned charge as Associate Professor of Paediatrics at Children’s Hospital.
Dr Amina has been given the existing charge of Senior Registrar Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Mother and Child Health Care Centre.
In addition, Hassan Ashraf has been assigned the additional charge of Assistant Director Security at PIMS.
The administrative measures were taken following the inquiry report into the tragedy at PIMS.
