In a statement, Aleem Khan said people across Pakistan wanted new provinces to be created on administrative grounds.
He said calls for the creation of Hazara province had been raised in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly since 2010.
The IPP president welcomed the support of major political parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the establishment of Hazara province and said his party also supported the demand.
He added that calls for new provinces were also growing in Punjab and Sindh, while the IPP supported the creation of South Punjab and Bahawalpur provinces.
Aleem Khan described the creation of new provinces as a national issue and said the matter should not be sacrificed for political interests or expediency.
He argued that there would be no harm in dividing each of Pakistan’s four provinces into four administrative units, saying the country’s current circumstances required a new administrative framework.
He said the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party would continue raising its voice for the creation of new provinces at every forum.
Aleem Khan urged politicians to fulfil their responsibilities and take ownership of the issue, saying they should focus on resolving public problems instead of protecting their own political influence.
