According to details, all education boards will work to maintain the same standard and difficulty level of examination papers. Students’ subject-wise performance will also be regularly reviewed.
Officials said an Examiners’ Report System will be introduced to prepare performance-based reports after examinations. The system will allow a detailed analysis of students’ performance in each subject. Previously, the difficulty level of examination papers varied among different education boards.
To improve transparency, a proposal is also under consideration to establish examination centres in halls of major government institutions, where strict monitoring arrangements will be put in place.
Facilities for paper marking will be improved and the marking scheme will also be reviewed. The system for paying paper checkers will be standardized across all education boards, while an online mechanism will be developed to ensure payments are made immediately after marking is completed.
Effective training of paper checkers and super checkers will also be ensured to improve the quality and consistency of marking.
In addition, the schedule for announcing Matric and Intermediate examination results will be revised.
Chairman of the CM Task Force Muzammil Mahmood said the main objective of the examination reforms is to make the transparency system more effective and ensure a better assessment of students’ academic performance.
