According to sources, the federal government has extended the deployment period of Rangers in Islamabad and different districts of Punjab. The personnel were previously scheduled to remain deployed until October 5, 2026.
Sources said the extension was decided in view of the prevailing situation and was made on the request of the Chief Commissioner Islamabad and the Punjab Home Department.
Rangers personnel will perform duties assigned by the Chief Commissioner Islamabad and the provincial government during the extended deployment period.
