The findings were published in the Saudi Internet 2025 report by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST). According to the report, WhatsApp is used by 94.4% of men and 90.4% of women, making it the most popular social media platform in the Kingdom.
Snapchat ranked second, with 88.2% of women and 80.2% of men using the app. It is also the second-most-used platform among Saudi women after WhatsApp. TikTok ranked third, with usage standing at 77.6% among women and 76.5% among men.
YouTube came fourth, used by 81.1% of men and 68.8% of women, while Instagram ranked fifth, with 42.2% of women and 39.5% of men using the platform.
The report also found that Saudi Arabia has a highly active internet population. Around 61.3% of internet users spend seven hours or more online every day, while 34.4% spend between three and six hours online and 4.6% spend less than three hours.
Internet usage in Saudi Arabia peaks between 9pm and 11pm, while Friday is the busiest day for internet activity. Smartphones remain the dominant way of accessing the internet, with 99.6% of users relying on them. Computers ranked second at 47.4%, followed by tablets at 39.2%.
The report also highlighted the most visited websites in Saudi Arabia. Wikipedia ranked first, followed by YouTube and Instagram.
The findings underline the dominant role of smartphones and social media in the daily digital habits of Saudi internet users.
