Lord’s Test: England Bowled Out for 290, Pakistan Begin First Innings

England were bowled out for 290 in their first innings on the second day of the Lord’s Test, with Pakistan now beginning their reply. England resumed their innings at 248 for nine after rain restricted the opening day to just 56 overs. The visitors added 42 runs for the final wicket before being dismissed for 290 in 66.4 overs.

Gus Atkinson was the last England batter to be dismissed, scoring 45 before being caught by Mohammad Ali off Ali Usman’s bowling. Josh Tongue remained unbeaten on 30.

Jamie Smith was England’s top scorer with 61 off 80 balls, including 10 boundaries, while Jordan Cox made a responsible 55.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas was the leading bowler, taking four wickets for 73 runs in 20 overs. Mohammad Ali claimed three wickets for 86 runs, while Khurram Shahzad and Ali Usman took one wicket each.

Pakistan’s bowlers kept England under pressure early in the innings, reducing them to 120 for five. However, Jordan Cox and Jamie Smith steadied the innings with a crucial 67-run partnership for the sixth wicket.

Pakistan have now started their first innings, with Shan Masood and Azan Owais opening the batting. Imam-ul-Haq was initially taken off the field after experiencing a calf strain, prompting Shan Masood to open alongside Owais.

England lead the three-match Test series 1-0 after defeating Pakistan by an innings and 103 runs in the first Test at Leeds.
