According to sources, Rizwan said in the letter that he had not been informed in writing about the inquiry and had not been contacted for any further proceedings.
Rizwan said his mobile phone was taken on August 31, and he was assured that it would be returned. However, he said he has not received it back yet.
The cricketer said he provided the relevant authorities with his phone password and fully cooperated with the investigation. He added that a digital forensic examination of the device was conducted in his presence.
Rizwan said the messages and other material stored on his phone were also reviewed on September 10. He has asked the NCCIA to provide him with a written explanation of the reasons for the inquiry and return his mobile phone without further delay.
Rizwan also said that if authorities require any further information or cooperation, they should contact him through official channels.
The NCCIA is currently investigating matters involving alleged online betting, gambling, financial transactions and the alleged leaking of dressing-room information in connection with Rizwan. No crime has been conclusively established against him.
Rizwan and fellow Pakistan cricketer Imam-ul-Haq were summoned by the NCCIA during Pakistan's tour of England as part of an investigation into the alleged leaking of dressing-room information. The two players were also questioned about their contacts and meetings during practice sessions and matches in England.
