South Korea took the lead in the first quarter when Lee Kang-sang scored in the 12th minute to make it 1-0.
Pakistan levelled the score before the end of the second quarter, with Abdul Rehman scoring in the 30th minute. The teams went into halftime level at 1-1.
South Korea regained the lead in the third quarter when Park Cheol-lin scored around the 36th minute to put his side 2-1 ahead. Pakistan responded quickly, with Ghazanfar Ali scoring in the 45th minute to make it 2-2.
Pakistan took control in the final quarter. Rana Waheed scored twice in the 52nd and 54th minutes to give Pakistan a 4-2 lead.
South Korea tried to reduce the deficit, but Pakistan maintained the pressure. Hannan Shahid scored in the final minute to make it 5-3 and seal Pakistan’s victory.
Rana Waheed scored two goals for Pakistan, while Abdul Rehman, Ghazanfar Ali and Hannan Shahid scored one each. The victory earned Pakistan the bronze medal in Asian Games hockey.
