The HBL Pakistan Super League 12 will feature eight teams for the second consecutive year, the PCB said.
The PSL 12 window was finalised after consultations with the PSL Governing Council and franchise owners. The governing council meeting was held in London on September 1, with representatives and owners of all eight franchises in attendance.
The previous edition saw the introduction of a player auction for the first time instead of the traditional player draft. The PSL 11 final at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium also attracted a record 32,461 spectators.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said PSL 11 demonstrated the league's potential through exciting moments, record attendances and new broadcast records.
He said the PCB was committed to staging another successful PSL season. PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer said efforts would be made to meet fans' expectations in 2027.
He said announcing the PSL 12 window was only the first step, adding that all eight teams would be more determined than ever to win the title. Peshawar Zalmi won the PSL 11 title after defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final to lift the trophy after a nine-year wait.
The PCB said further details regarding direct signings, the player auction, the complete schedule, venues and ticketing for PSL 12 will be announced later.
The tournament is expected to draw millions of fans from Pakistan and around the world.
