In a joint statement, Pakistan, Egypt, Türkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates warned that attempts to uproot Palestinians from their land would pose a serious threat to peace and stability in the region.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, the eight foreign ministers issued the joint statement in response to remarks by the Israeli defense minister and other Israeli officials regarding the expulsion of Palestinians.
The ministers described such statements as condemnable and warned that plans to transfer Palestinians from their homeland would constitute a clear violation of international law. They rejected any attempt to forcibly relocate Palestinians from Gaza and warned that turning such policies or statements into action would have serious consequences.
The joint statement said efforts to displace Palestinians could undermine ongoing international efforts aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza and threaten regional peace and stability.
The eight countries stressed that Gaza is an integral and indivisible part of the occupied Palestinian territory. They said maintaining the territorial unity of all Palestinian territories, including Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem, is essential.
The ministers also rejected any attempt to undermine the Palestinian cause or the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and reaffirmed their support for Palestinians remaining steadfast on their land.
They said the only path toward a just and lasting peace is the implementation of the two-state solution. The statement called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The eight countries also called on the international community and the UN Security Council to fulfil their responsibilities and oppose attempts to impose new demographic or geographic realities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Palestinian people’s right to remain on and maintain their presence in their homeland.
