Thailand Floods, Heavy Rains Kill 23

At least 23 people have died in Thailand following heavy rains and flooding that began in mid-September, according to foreign media reports.

Thailand’s disaster management authorities said 23 people had been killed in various rain- and flood-related incidents, including four deaths in the capital, Bangkok.

More than 700,000 people have been affected by the floods in Bangkok, with several areas still facing waterlogging.

Schools remained closed for a second consecutive day in some parts of the capital, while stagnant floodwater on roads and in low-lying areas disrupted daily life.
