According to cotton analyst Naseem Usman, in Sindh, the price of new cotton hovered between PKR 14,500 and 16,000 per maund, while Punjab saw cotton prices ranging from PKR 14,800 to 16,000 per maund. Meanwhile, the spot rate held firm at PKR 15,300 per maund, signaling stability in immediate transactions.
In the seed cotton segment, Punjab witnessed prices between PKR 6,000 and 7,800 per 40 kg, whereas Sindh reported slightly lower figures, ranging from PKR 6,000 to 7,600 per 40 kg. Balochistan, on the other hand, commanded a stronger market, with cotton prices between PKR 15,300 and 16,200 per maund and seed cotton reaching PKR 7,800 to 8,800 per 40 kg.
Premium quality Balochi cotton was traded at PKR 15,800 to 16,200 per maund, while seed cotton ranged from PKR 7,000 to 8,500 per 40 kg. Pre mark cotton prices were reported at PKR 16,700 to 16,900 per maund. Polyester fiber continued to hold at PKR 325 per kg.
Market watchers described the current scenario as steady yet watchful, indicating that while price levels remain firm, traders are navigating cautiously in the backdrop of lower trading volumes.
As the cotton season progresses, experts expect subtle shifts rather than dramatic swings, emphasizing that careful observation and timely decisions will be key for both buyers and sellers.
