The dip reflects cautious sentiment among investors who are weighing short term profit taking against ongoing economic uncertainty. Silver, meanwhile, held its ground and remained unchanged at $78.86 per ounce, offering a sense of stability in an otherwise mixed precious metals market.
Back home, the downward trend was more visible. According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold per tola fell by Rs1,200, bringing it down to Rs466,762. This drop cooled the market after the recent upward momentum.
Gold prices tumbled on Wednesday as investors cashed in gains following a brief rally to multi-week highs, with a resurgent U.S. dollar adding downward pressure across the precious metals sector ahead of closely watched American labor market indicators due later this week.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs1,028 to settle at Rs400,173. The rate of 10 grams of 22-karat gold also moved lower, shedding Rs942 to stand at Rs365,896.
Despite the decline in gold prices, silver prices in Pakistan remained steady, reflecting balanced demand and limited pressure from global markets.
Market watchers say the current movement suggests a brief breather rather than a sharp reversal, as gold continues to trade at historically high levels.
Investors and buyers alike are now keeping a close eye on international cues, currency movements, and upcoming economic signals that could shape the next direction of the bullion market.
