In the global bullion market, gold gained $26 per ounce, reaching $4,325 per ounce, as investor interest picked up amid shifting market trends. This upward move overseas quickly echoed in the domestic market.
As a result, the price of gold per tola surged by Rs 2,600, settling at Rs 454,862. Likewise, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs 2,229, closing at Rs 389,970.
Market observers noted that the rise came after a brief dip over the weekend. On Saturday, gold prices had slipped by Rs 2,000 per tola, bringing the rate down to Rs 452,262, before bouncing back strongly at the start of the new week.
Silver also followed the upward path. The price of silver per tola increased by Rs 68, reaching Rs 6,532, signaling broader strength in precious metals.
Analysts say the latest rise shows that gold remains a trusted store of value, especially during times of global uncertainty, while local prices continue to move in step with international trends.
