According to the Local Sarafa Association, the price of 10 grams of gold jumped by an impressive Rs9,174, reaching a new all time high of Rs389,456. Likewise, the per tola price surged by Rs10,700, settling at a historic Rs454,262, a level many traders say was unthinkable just months ago.
On the global front, gold also continued its upward march. International bullion rates posted a significant $107 increase, taking the price to $4,319 per ounce a rise driven by what experts call a flight to safety, a common trend when markets around the world feel shaky, fragile, or on edge.
Market observers believe the rally is a direct consequence of mounting economic uncertainty, with investors leaning toward gold as a safe haven asset.
This global rush toward bullion has spilled over into Pakistan’s local market, amplifying the upward pressure on prices.
Traders note that the current momentum is not just a passing ripple but part of a broader, steady climb as buyers continue to hedge against inflation, currency volatility, and geopolitical tensions.
One dealer described the situation as a storm of factors pushing gold to new heights, adding that the metal’s rise has become the talk of the town among investors and households alike.
Analysts say that unless global conditions settle, Pakistan’s gold prices are likely to remain elevated possibly even reaching fresh peaks in the coming weeks.
