The event was attended by Chinese Consul General Sun Yan, LCCI President Fahim-ur-Rehman Saigol, senior chamber officials, and a large number of business community members.
Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Consul General Sun Yan said Pakistan and China have always supported each other in difficult times, adding that their relationship is based on mutual trust, respect, and shared development goals. He said the importance of this friendship has further increased in today’s changing global environment.
Sun Yan praised LCCI’s role in strengthening trade and investment ties, saying the chamber has acted as an effective bridge between the business communities of both countries. He also appreciated initiatives such as trade delegations, business matchmaking events, and policy discussions, along with the introduction of Chinese language training programs to improve cultural understanding.
LCCI President Fahim-ur-Rehman Saigol said 2026 marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, calling it an important milestone in their long-standing partnership. He described China as Pakistan’s largest economic partner and a trusted friend, noting that cooperation extends across defense, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, education, science, and technology.
He highlighted the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a key driver of infrastructure development, industrial growth, and regional connectivity in Pakistan, and stressed the need to further strengthen government, business, and people-to-people ties to expand economic opportunities.
Sun Yan further noted that under CPEC, significant investments have been made, millions of jobs created, and progress achieved in Pakistan’s energy and infrastructure sectors.
