According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), total foreign exchange reserves rose by $13 million, bringing the central bank’s holdings to $15.91 billion. The latest figures were released as part of the SBP’s weekly update on the country’s reserve position.

The central bank stated that commercial banks are currently holding $5.09 billion in foreign exchange reserves. With this addition, Pakistan’s total foreign reserves now stand at around $21 billion.

Officials noted that the increase was recorded during the previous week, reflecting gradual inflows and careful management of external payments. While the rise is not large, analysts say even small gains matter at a time when economic confidence is closely tied to reserve levels.

Economists view steady reserves as a quiet support for the currency and a buffer against external shocks. They add that consistent improvements, even in small steps, help send a signal of control and continuity to markets.

The latest data suggests that Pakistan’s reserve position remains stable for now, with attention focused on maintaining momentum through sustained inflows and disciplined financial planning.
