Recent market performance shows a renewed sense of trust, driven by improving economic indicators and supportive policy measures.
Since January 2025, the PSX has delivered eye catching returns. Measured in US dollars, the market has gained around 47 percent, while returns in Pakistani rupees stand close to 48 percent. These numbers highlight not just growth, but consistency in performance despite global economic uncertainty.
The benchmark KSE 100 Index has crossed a historic milestone, climbing past 171,500 points by mid December 2025. Market experts say this record breaking rise reflects growing faith in Pakistan’s economic direction and the belief that reforms are starting to bear fruit.
Looking at a longer timeline, the picture becomes even more striking. Over the past two years, the stock market has posted gains of nearly 300 percent, placing Pakistan among the world’s top performing equity markets.
This sharp turnaround has caught the attention of global investors who are now watching Pakistan more closely than before.
Investor participation has also seen a noticeable jump. The number of equity investors on the PSX has risen to 450,000, with 120,000 new investors joining between June 2024 and November 2025. Overall, more than one million people are now part of the public investment market a clear sign that public trust is deepening.
Corporate performance is moving in the same positive direction. From January to September 2025, business profits grew by 14 percent year on year, while the July, September quarter alone recorded a 9 percent increase. Analysts link this improvement to lower interest rates and a more investment friendly climate.
The mutual funds sector is also gaining momentum. Total investments in mutual funds have crossed Rs 4 trillion, showing that investors are increasingly looking for managed and diversified options to grow their savings.
Economists believe that if this upward trend continues, Pakistan could move toward stronger economic stability and long term growth. For now, the market’s message is clear: confidence is returning, momentum is building, and optimism is back on the trading floor.
