Trading opened on a positive and energetic note on the last business day of the week, with the KSE-100 Index crossing the 179,000 mark, reflecting strong buying interest across key sectors.

At one point during the session, the index surged by 2,661 points to trade at 179,016, showing clear signs of market optimism. By the end of the first session, the index was halted at 178,504 points.

Market activity remained lively, with around 570 million shares changing hands in deals worth approximately Rs 32 billion, highlighting strong participation from investors.

It is worth noting that the upward momentum follows a strong performance in the previous session as well, when the KSE 100 Index closed at 176,355 points after gaining more than 2,300 points.

Analysts say the continued rally reflects renewed investor trust, expectations of economic stability, and hopes for improved financial indicators in the coming period. The market’s steady climb suggests a wave of confidence sweeping through the trading floor as the new year begins.
