In Punjab’s Kasur district, the modern village of Roshan Bhila is deteriorating due to government negligence. The building of the once well-equipped hospital now lacks essential facilities. Residents say that due to the absence of budget allocation, the salaries of workers cannot be paid on time, and medicines are unavailable.

A special team from Pakistan Matters visited Roshan Bhila to assess the missing facilities. Local resident Advocate Nasir Kasuri said that when the hospital was built, it had a capacity of 40 beds, but due to insufficient funds, the Health Secretary reduced it to 20 beds. He added that although the government is working on rural health, their hospital is being ignored.

Another resident, Muhammad Javed, also complained about the shortage of funds. Appealing to Maryam Nawaz, he demanded that the Roshan Bhila Hospital be restored to its original 40-bed capacity.

Anas Gondal, President of DMA, who visited from Lahore, said that while the builder constructed a beautiful building, the incompetence of those responsible for running it has turned the hospital into ruins. He added that the current condition of the hospital goes against Maryam Nawaz’s stated vision.
