The notice, issued on Friday, October 30, was pasted outside Fazlur Rehman’s residence in the federal capital. The CDA has directed the removal of a security guards’ cabin outside the property and a generator installed near the house.
The authority has also declared an additional kitchen built inside the residence a violation of building regulations.
According to the notice, the alleged encroachments must be removed within 15 days. Otherwise, the CDA has warned that it will take action itself.
The notice was issued to Amanullah, son of Muhammad Younis, identified as the owner of the building.
A similar order was issued on March 18, 2019, during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, directing the removal of encroachments outside Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence.
Speaking to Urdu News, JUI-F central spokesperson Aslam Ghauri confirmed that the party had received the CDA notice.
He said Maulana Fazlur Rehman had been living at the residence for a long time and that security cabins and similar arrangements were present outside houses and bungalows throughout the area. However, he said, the party had never received such a notice before.
Ghauri described the move as political victimisation, saying: “This is the same house that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi used to visit himself. But now he is the one who has sent us this notice.”
He added that the party would not be intimidated by such measures and that notices of this kind would not affect its position or stance.
