Addressing a PML-N meeting in Murree, also attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz said political rivalry was normal but differences should not turn into enmity.
He expressed concern over the political environment that emerged during the AJK elections, attributing the situation to the failure of previous governments to fulfil their responsibilities.
"This is the first time that this environment has been created in Azad Kashmir, which is a cause of concern for all of us," Nawaz said, adding that political opponents should demonstrate tolerance and keep their differences within the bounds of democratic disagreement.
The PML-N president said his party had always treated political opponents with respect and stressed that political differences should not develop into hostility.
PML-N claims AJK majority
The PML-N has secured 24 seats after the first two phases of the AJK elections, giving it a simple majority, while the PPP has won 10 seats. Results of the third phase are yet to be announced.
Nawaz said the PML-N would form the government in Azad Kashmir and fulfil the promises made to voters during the election campaign.
He congratulated party leaders and workers on their performance and said the election process had not yet been completed.
Calling for maximum funds for Azad Kashmir, Nawaz said the welfare and development of the region's people should remain the government's priority.
He said the people of AJK were looking towards Punjab, where development had been initiated under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and subsequently advanced under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
"The way we transformed Punjab, we will transform Azad Kashmir as well," Nawaz said, while warning that failure to deliver on the public mandate could disappoint voters.
Nawaz praises Shehbaz government
Praising Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team, Nawaz said the government was working to address the country's challenges despite inheriting a difficult situation.
"Today, the situation is improving day by day, and efforts are being made to put Pakistan on its own feet," he said.
Nawaz added that the government was also working to reduce Pakistan's dependence on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and move towards economic self-reliance.
