In Balochistan’s Chagai district, security forces killed two terrorists during an operation in the Nokcha area after the militants set an empty water bowser on fire.
The terrorists attempted to flee after setting the vacant water bowser ablaze, prompting security forces to launch an operation against them.
The militants were also allegedly involved in arson attacks at several locations along the N-40 highway, the sources said.
Security sources said 11 terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, who were allegedly involved in similar acts of sabotage, had been killed on August 31.
Operations will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated from Balochistan, the sources said.
Separately, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bara town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing five terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij.
A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants, while their hideouts were destroyed, according to the sources.
Security forces said they remained committed to eliminating terrorism and establishing lasting peace in the country.
Pakistan has experienced an increase in cross-border militant attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021.
Islamabad has repeatedly called on Kabul to prevent militant organisations from using Afghan territory to carry out attacks inside Pakistan.
Pakistan maintains that the Afghan Taliban authorities have failed to take effective action against groups responsible for attacks on Pakistani security forces and civilians.
