Kaur was represented by Ahmad Hassan Pasha Advocate, a member of the Sheikhupura District Bar. In her statement, she said she independently decided to accept Islam and entered into marriage with the Pakistani man without any pressure. She added that she now wanted to reside with her husband.
According to court records, Kaur adopted the Islamic name Noor after her conversion. She maintained that she faced no coercion at any point. She stated that the marriage took place on November 5, 2025 in Farooqabad in district Sheikhupura. The dower amount was ten thousand rupees which she confirmed had been paid. Noor reaffirmed before the magistrate that she freely embraced Islam and chose Naseer Hussain as her husband. Her petition repeated that she was under no pressure and confirmed her new Islamic name. The marriage certificate lists her as a divorced woman and mother of two children.
Kaur had arrived in Pakistan on November 4 as part of a Sikh pilgrims’ group. After reaching the country, she separated from the group and married Hussain. Her disappearance came to notice when the Indian pilgrims began preparations to return home on November 13 at the end of their ten day visit.
Following the reports, police and intelligence agencies launched a search to locate her. By Friday, officials learned that she had married a Pakistani citizen. She appeared before the magistrate in Sheikhupura on Saturday to record her sworn statement.
Whether she will be repatriated to India or allowed to stay in Pakistan will be decided by the relevant law enforcement authorities. Her visa expired on November 13.
