ICC Removes Demerit Point From Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium Pitch

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has overturned its decision to award one demerit point to the pitch at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had appealed against the pitch rating decision, following which the ICC appeal panel ruled to remove the demerit point.

The pitch used for the One-Day International (ODI) against Australia on June 4 had been rated unsatisfactory and was awarded one demerit point. However, the appeal panel has now overturned the decision.

According to the ICC panel, there was no evidence of unusual deterioration or excessive spin on the pitch. As a result, Gaddafi Stadium Lahore now has no demerit points on its record.
