According to Al Jazeera, citing Iranian officials, IRGC forces carried out an intelligence-based raid on a house in Manjilabad village, located about 44 kilometres from Tehran.
The Iranian authorities claimed the suspects were planning attacks in Tehran. Explosive materials were also reportedly seized from the house, while security forces launched a clearance operation in the area.
Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that the operation came as security forces remained on high alert across the country.
Iran has previously accused the United States and Israel of providing financial and military support to opposition and armed groups inside the country and of attempting to create instability.
