According to Al Arabiya, Mohammed bin Salman made the remarks during his annual address to the Shura Council, where he discussed Saudi Arabia’s internal security, regional developments, the situation in Yemen, Gulf cooperation and the global energy crisis.
The Crown Prince said Saudi Arabia would not hesitate to respond effectively to any attempt to harm its security. He also praised the capabilities of the Saudi armed forces, saying the kingdom has the military capacity and personnel to confront threats from various sources.
Mohammed bin Salman said Saudi Arabia would continue supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions and finding peaceful solutions to conflicts, while maintaining its security and sovereignty as priorities.
Discussing Yemen, he criticised the Houthi movement and accused it of pursuing instability and threatening the region. He said Saudi Arabia would continue supporting the internationally recognised Yemeni government in establishing its authority across the country.
The Crown Prince also stressed that the security of Gulf countries is interconnected, saying threats to one Gulf state can affect regional peace and stability.
On the global energy situation, Mohammed bin Salman said the world is facing an energy crisis and opposed the use of international waterways for political or economic pressure. He stressed the importance of safe and uninterrupted maritime routes for the global economy.
He also said Saudi Arabia remains capable of maintaining oil supplies to global markets despite regional tensions.
