The footage was presented during Disney’s D23 fan event on Friday, where stars Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel appeared on stage and teased the next major adventure for Anna and Elsa.

Bell confirmed that Anna and Kristoff will tie the knot in the film, describing it as a “royal wedding” that has been a long time coming.

The presentation also featured Josh Gad, who voices Olaf, performing a humorous love song to Samantha, referencing a running joke from Frozen II.

The first-look footage then took a darker turn. Menzel teased that the sisters would travel far from Arendelle into a wild and dangerous land.

The footage showed Anna and Kristoff’s wedding seemingly being disrupted by a new villain. In another scene, the characters were seen travelling through an icy forest before the mysterious figure descended from a snowy mountain and addressed the sisters.

“The sisters of Arendelle, we finally meet,” the villain says in the footage.

Frozen 3 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 24, 2027.

The first two films in the franchise were major box-office successes. The original Frozen, released in 2013, earned around $1.28 billion worldwide, while Frozen II grossed approximately $1.45 billion following its release in 2019.

Bell and Menzel return as sisters Anna and Elsa, while Josh Gad reprises his role as Olaf and Jonathan Groff returns as Kristoff.

The third film was originally scheduled for release in 2026 but was later delayed until 2027. Gad previously said the delay was intended to ensure that the film would live up to the story and expectations established by the original movie.

Disney has also confirmed that Frozen 4 is in development, although no release date has been announced.
