The 27-year-old who acts as an Executive Producer to the movie has stated that he cried after reading the screenplay that was authored by renowned English writer Graham King.

Under the direction of Antoine Fuqua, Michael has already become the most-watched music biopic trailer in history with it becoming the largest viewed trailer in 24 hours, racking more than 116 million views.

The movie features Michael, the real nephew of Jaafar Jackson who plays the King of Pop.

According to Prince, the project was very personal to him. “It was very exciting. I wasted much time conversing with Graham about the man that I referred to as my father, not the King of Pop, was not the Michael Jackson. It was daddy to me,” he said.

He also mentioned that it took King months to meet the family members, friends and colleagues of the late singer in order to give an accurate account of the man behind the world legend.

I called him after reading the first copy of the script since I was weeping then. I informed him that he had the genuine picture of my father, Prince remembered.

Lotologizing about the story, he told that the movie is an expression of how his father went through poverty in Gary, Indiana, to becomes one of the most influential artists in the world.

That was my father and that is precisely what he is.

Michael will open in April in cinemas.
