The 49 year old actor shared his thoughts on long term commitment ahead of the milestone, offering a grounded view of marriage.
Brown was speaking during a live taping of That Was Us on January 17, alongside former co stars Mandy Moore and Chris Sullivan.
“I celebrate 20 years of marriage in March,” Brown said, referring to Bathé, whom he described as “the love of my life.”
He said the strength of their relationship lies not in perfection but in persistence, adding that they continue choosing each other even when things are difficult.
Brown explained that compatibility does not mean constant harmony, describing marriage as a daily decision to show up, adapt and remain committed, especially during imperfect moments.
He suggested that this approach has allowed them to grow together rather than drift apart.
Brown and Bathé first met as students at Stanford University in the 1990s and dated on and off before separating after graduating in 1998.
They later reconnected and eloped in 2006, followed by a larger wedding ceremony the following year.
The couple have two sons, Andrew, born in 2011, and Amaré, born in 2015.
