According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations, the operations were carried out in North Waziristan and Kurram districts against militants linked to India-backed Fitna al-Khawarij.
The ISPR said security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan following reports about the presence of militants. During an intense exchange of fire, six terrorists were killed.
In a separate operation in Kurram district, police and security forces jointly engaged the militants and neutralised five more terrorists.
The statement added that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who were allegedly involved in multiple attacks against security forces, law enforcement agencies and in the targeted killing of civilians.
The military said sanitisation operations are ongoing in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants, adding that counterterrorism efforts under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
Pakistan has seen an increase in militant violence since the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan in 2021, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan being the most affected provinces due to their proximity to the Afghan border.
Earlier this week, ISPR Director General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that law enforcement agencies conducted 75,175 intelligence-based operations across the country in 2025. He stated that 14,658 operations were carried out in KP, 58,778 in Balochistan and 1,739 in other parts of Pakistan.
He further said that 5,397 terrorist incidents were reported nationwide last year, with 3,811 incidents in KP, 1,557 in Balochistan and 29 in other regions. According to him, 2,597 terrorists were killed during counterterrorism operations in 2025, and Afghan militants were involved in all 10 major attacks recorded during the year.
