According to the military’s media wing, the operation was conducted in the Naal area of Khuzdar on June 8, 2026, after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants linked to the proscribed network described as Fitna al-Hindustan.
The ISPR said the militants were allegedly planning attacks on a police station and nearby banks in the area.
Upon receiving the information, security forces launched a swift response and initiated the intelligence-based operation to pre-empt the planned attacks. During the engagement, the movement of militants was effectively contained and they were targeted in an intense exchange of fire.
The statement added that 14 militants were killed and several others injured during the operation. Four vehicles used by the militants, along with improvised explosive devices (IEDs), were also destroyed.
One soldier, Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbas, was martyred during the operation after fighting valiantly, the ISPR confirmed.
Security forces have since launched sanitisation operations in the area to clear any remaining threats and ensure stability.
The ISPR reiterated that counterterrorism operations under the national security framework “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue across the country to eliminate terrorism and its facilitators.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in militant activity in recent years, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, prompting intensified security operations by state forces.
