He added that 42 people lost their lives during the attacks and subsequent operations, while security forces remain committed to continuing counterterrorism efforts until all militant threats are eliminated.

Speaking at a press conference on the security situation in Balochistan, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) said militants carried out multiple attacks targeting civilians and security personnel across the province.

Khuzdar Attack Targets Civilians

According to Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, militants launched attacks on innocent civilians in Khuzdar, where local residents put up strong resistance alongside security forces, forcing the attackers to retreat.

Harnai and Quetta Incidents

The military spokesperson stated that another attack took place on the night of July 4 and 5 in the Hanna Urak area, where four people were killed and six others injured.

On July 6, militants attacked a police checkpoint responsible for protecting the Mangi Dam pumping station, which supplies water to Quetta. Police personnel repelled the assault, killing 15 militants. However, nine security personnel lost their lives during the operation.

Hostages Killed During Rescue Operation

Lt Gen Chaudhry said militants also took several civilians hostage. Security forces immediately launched a rescue mission and pursued the attackers into the mountainous areas of Ziarat, where clearance operations are still ongoing.

He stated that several militants had been killed during the operation, but claimed that the attackers executed 18 hostages after realizing security forces were closing in on them.

Bela Convoy Attack

The third major incident occurred on Tuesday in Bela, where militants from the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) allegedly attacked a Pakistan Army convoy. According to the military, 11 soldiers were martyred, while 14 militants were killed during the retaliatory operation.

The DG ISPR further revealed that separate intelligence-based operations conducted the same day resulted in the deaths of six militants in Kharan and eight more in Dalbandin.

Military Vows Continued Counterterrorism Operations

Addressing the broader security situation, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said enemies of peace were unable to tolerate Balochistan s development and prosperity.

He alleged that India was involved in supporting militant activities in the province and further claimed that Afghan territory was being used to facilitate attacks inside Pakistan, accusing the Taliban-led administration of providing support to militant networks.

The military spokesperson said the objective of these attacks was to spread fear among the civilian population but emphasized that Pakistan s security forces, together with the people of the country, would continue the fight against terrorism. We are fighting this battle together, and victory will be ours, he said.
