Speaking to a media representative in the National Assembly on Tuesday, Barrister Gohar said that Achakzai’s nomination papers had been submitted and their verification was expected to be completed by Wednesday. He added that only one nomination had been filed so far.
Achakzai also serves as chairman of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party.
Commenting on internal party matters, Barrister Gohar rejected reports of a forward bloc within the PTI and reaffirmed that Imran Khan would remain the party’s chief.
“Khan Sahib was, he is, and he will remain the PTI chairman,” he said, adding that no political decision or apex committee could override Imran Khan’s decisions.
