The agreement, signed by Hank Shao on behalf of Alibaba Cloud’s authorised partner and Naveed Ali Baig representing Alkhidmat Foundation, aims to establish dedicated training centres under the foundation’s flagship Bano Qabil platform.
Under the collaboration, two Alibaba Cloud Training Centres will be set up—one at the Bano Qabil Incubation Center in Karachi and another at the Innovation Center in Lahore. These facilities will offer specialised courses in AI and cloud computing, enabling participants to pursue internationally recognised certifications aligned with industry standards.
The initiative is being supported locally by Cognix Solutions Private Limited, an authorised Alibaba Cloud partner, ensuring implementation and outreach within Pakistan.
As part of the MoU, Alibaba Cloud will also roll out continuous faculty development programs, ensuring instructors remain up to date with the latest advancements in emerging technologies. This approach is intended to maintain global training standards and deliver high-quality technical education.
The partnership will also feature recurring AI hackathons under the theme “AI for Pakistan’s Future”, providing a platform for young innovators to develop practical, tech-driven solutions to national challenges. Top-performing teams will receive recognition and potential support to scale their ideas.
Alkhidmat’s Bano Qabil platform has already established itself as a major skills development initiative in the country, with over 1.15 million registered students and more than 90,000 certified graduates across Pakistan.
Officials described the collaboration as a non-commercial effort focused on long-term capacity building, enhancing employability, and strengthening Pakistan’s digital economy by preparing a workforce equipped with advanced technological capabilities.
The MoU is being seen as a significant move toward building a future-ready tech ecosystem in Pakistan, particularly in high-demand fields such as AI and cloud computing.
