According to Pakistani media, citing PCB sources, the BCB will formally inform the Bangladeshi government of its decision. A final announcement will be made following consultations with the government, after which the matter will also be conveyed to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Sources said the BCB will request the ICC to shift Bangladesh’s World Cup matches to Sri Lanka. It is worth noting that all of Bangladesh’s matches in the ICC T20 World Cup are currently scheduled to be held in India, with three matches in Kolkata and one in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced its squad for the ICC T20 World Cup. Litton Kumar Das has been appointed as team captain, while Saif Hassan will serve as vice-captain.
Bangladesh has been placed in a group alongside England, West Indies, Nepal, and Italy. The team’s opening match is scheduled for February 7 against West Indies in Kolkata.
