According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief interacted with Ulema from the Ahl-e-Tasheeh community in Rawalpindi, where discussions focused on national security and the role of religious leadership in maintaining societal harmony.
Field Marshal Munir highlighted the importance of Ulema in promoting tolerance, unity, and national cohesion, particularly in combating misinformation, sectarian narratives, and externally sponsored destabilization efforts.
Referring to Operation Ghazab lil Haq, he reiterated that Pakistan would not allow the use of Afghanistan soil for terrorist activities against its citizens. He emphasized that operations against militant networks would continue through precise, intelligence-based actions.
The army chief also stressed that the Afghan Taliban must ensure their territory is not used for cross-border terrorism, while reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional de-escalation through proactive diplomacy.
He warned that violence within Pakistan triggered by incidents in other countries would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Participating Ulema expressed their support for peace and stability, strongly condemning violence carried out in the name of religion. They also pledged full cooperation with law enforcement agencies to maintain order and harmony in the country.
