The commitment was made during the 276th Corps Commanders Conference held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The meeting was chaired by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir.
According to the ISPR, the forum expressed serious concern over the continued use of territory under the control of the Afghan Taliban by what it described as Indian-backed militant groups, including Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, to carry out attacks inside Pakistan.
The military leadership said lasting regional peace and stability depended on preventing the use of Afghan soil by such groups, adding that responsibility rested with the Afghan Taliban authorities.
The forum reiterated that Pakistan had the unequivocal right to defend its people and that intelligence-based operations under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq would continue against terrorist threats originating from Afghan territory.
Besides military operations, participants stressed the need to establish effective governance structures in restive areas to improve public services, promote welfare and dismantle what they described as the terror-crime nexus operating under political patronage.
The conference also reviewed India s recent statements regarding the Indus Waters Treaty and reaffirmed its support for the National Security Committee s directives issued on April 24, 2025.
The military leadership pledged to take all necessary measures to safeguard Pakistan s rightful share of water in accordance with government policy and national interests.
The forum offered prayers for members of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians who lost their lives in terrorist incidents, saying their sacrifices remained the foundation of Pakistan s security and resilience.
Participants reviewed the country s overall security environment and expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness, professionalism and combat readiness of the armed forces.
The conference noted an increasing reliance on externally supported hybrid warfare and disinformation campaigns aimed at creating instability following last year s Mark-e-Haq.
The military leadership condemned all forms of state-sponsored financing, facilitation and support for proxy groups, warning that attempts to destabilise Pakistan through hybrid means would be met with firm and coordinated responses.
Reviewing regional developments, the forum appreciated Pakistan s role in promoting dialogue, de-escalation and regional stability while reaffirming its commitment to peaceful conflict resolution, respect for international law and regional cooperation.
The conference also condemned ongoing human rights violations and demographic changes in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reiterating Pakistan s diplomatic, political and moral support for the Kashmiri people s right to self-determination in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Asim Munir directed commanders to accelerate implementation of the armed forces multi-domain transformation plan in response to the changing nature of warfare.
He also instructed commanders to maintain the highest levels of vigilance, operational readiness and professional excellence while ensuring integrated responses to conventional, sub-conventional and hybrid threats to safeguard Pakistan s sovereignty and national interests.
