Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the plea submitted by lawyer Salman Akram Raja, who appeared in person before the court. Raja told the bench that despite a written court order, he was denied permission to meet Imran Khan last Tuesday. He added that SHO Aizaz flatly refused to comply with the order, prompting him to request the court to send the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) along for the meeting.
Expressing displeasure, the judge remarked, if Salman Akram Raja cannot meet his client in jail, how is he supposed to assist the court in the Twitter/X case?”
Justice Tahir summoned the Assistant Attorney General to the rostrum and questioned why the meeting was not arranged despite the clear court directive. The assistant attorney general replied that he would inform the concerned authorities once again.
The court directed him to personally ensure the arrangement of Salman Akram Raja’s meeting with Imran Khan. Later, the bench issued notices to all parties on the contempt petition and adjourned the hearing, noting that the next date would be announced in the written order.
