Police investigators now say that the officer acted alone in committing the brutal crime.

Addressing a press conference, DIG Investigation Zeeshan Raza stated that evidence collected so far clearly points to DSP Usman Haider as the sole perpetrator.

According to investigators, the accused used his official vehicle and personal pistol to carry out the murders and made serious efforts to erase evidence afterward.

Police officials revealed that suspicion arose early due to the accused’s unusual behavior. During the investigation, it was discovered that six mobile phone numbers were registered in Usman Haider’s name. All of them were sent for forensic analysis, which further strengthened the case against him.

DIG Zeeshan Raza stressed that this was not a case of honor killing and warned that no one would be allowed to misuse such a label.

He disclosed that the accused had contracted two marriages and had himself registered a kidnapping case of his wife and daughter at Burki Police Station. Investigators now say this report was a calculated move to mislead the police.

According to the DIG, Usman Haider later killed both his wife and daughter and disposed of their bodies at different locations.

The daughter’s body was recovered from Kahna, while the wife’s body was found in Sheikhupura district. Both bodies have been shifted to hospital for post-mortem examinations.

Police confirmed that the accused had already confessed during interrogation to shooting his wife and daughter dead. Nearly a month ago, he had reported them missing, but as the investigation progressed, the case took a dramatic and disturbing turn.

Further investigation is underway, as authorities work to piece together the final moments of the victims and ensure that justice is served without fear or favor.
