Peter Nygard, a Finnish Canadian fashion tycoon, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for sexually assaulting four women and was also accused of raping underage girls.
According to the newly surfaced documents, the Federal Bureau of Investigation wrote to UK authorities in April 2020 seeking to interview Prince Andrew as part of investigations related to both Epstein and Nygard.
The letter stated that investigators had discovered Prince Andrew travelled at least once to Nygard Cay in the Bahamas, a private island where Nygard is believed to have trafficked both minor and adult female victims. The visit reportedly took place in 2000, when Andrew travelled to the Caribbean resort with members of his family.
“With regard to the interview, US authorities request to conduct a voluntary interview of Prince Andrew and request the assistance of UK authorities in arranging for such an interview,” the document said.
It further added that if the witness declined a voluntary interview, US authorities asked UK officials to conduct a compelled interview under oath.
