According to sources, the incident occurred on Monday morning when the student fell from the second floor and sustained severe injuries. However, the university administration has not officially confirmed that it was a suicide attempt, though it has confirmed that the student fell from the building.
This is the second alleged suicide-related incident reported at the same university within a month. Earlier, a male student identified as Owais Sultan had also reportedly attempted suicide by jumping from the third floor.
The injured student has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). University sources said she sustained head injuries, while both of her legs were fractured. There are also reports of injuries to her spine and pelvis. Doctors have stated that she is currently out of danger.
So far, the university administration has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. However, a notice released by the registrar’s office stated that all university activities have been suspended, and classes for today and tomorrow will be conducted online.
